What is SNAP-8?

SNAP-8 is an analog of the N-terminus of SNAP-25, which competes with SNAP-25 for a position in the SNARE complex and thus regulates its formation. If the SNARE complex is slightly destabilized, vesicles are unable to release neurotransmitters efficiently, and therefore muscle contraction is reduced, thus preventing the formation of fine lines and wrinkles!
