Derived from the simulation and optimization of the β-hairpin structure specific to keratinocyte growth factor(KGF), it targets hair follicle stem cells.
High affinity retention towards the FGFR2-IIIb subunit is maintained, with a significant reduction in cross-binding to FGFR1; mitigating the aforementioned mitotic “non-hair follicle” side effects and extending half-life.
Side effects (itching, eyelid pigmentation being prime examples) are largely avoided.
