The third failure is regulatory, and it is the most consequential. The two most cited sources pull in opposite directions. The failure mode runs in both directions. So the useful question is not “what is your purity?” but “what is your release specification, which method defines it, and what does a lot record show for a batch you did not select?” Ask for the chromatogram, not the number.
